Seattle, Washington - In collaboration with The Kroger Co., MulvannyG2 has creatively discovered a way to design a state-of-the-art parking facility, public space, and an addition to QFC’s flagship grocery store within the core of Seattle’s University Village. MulvannyG2 proposed a unique plaza space to better connect the grocery store to the adjacent retail, while at the same time creating a flexible merchandising area near the store’s entrance. As the chain’s highest performing store, parking is in great demand, so an additional 300 parking stalls were placed on an elevated parking deck while the lower deck is an inviting, light, bright, and dry covered parking area with 15’ ceilings. A glass-covered grand stair connects the upper parking level with the plaza, and elevators, an escalator, and a shopping cart conveying system make the walk between car and store a fun and easy trip. QFC also intends to increase the grocery store to 100,000 square feet from its present 72,000 square feet. |
