MulvannyG2 Hosts Cooking Competition Fundraiser to Benefit Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center
8.15.2007 | Bellevue, Wash. – MulvannyG2 Architecture, one of the Top 25 Corporate Philanthropists as ranked by Puget Sound Business Journal, held its second annual fundraising event for Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center in July at their headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. The unique “Taste a Little Bit” cooking competition raised more than $3,000 for the Center, which offers therapeutic horseback riding and hippotherapy for children and adults with disabilities at their facility in Woodinville, Washington. Funds were raised through raffle tickets and direct donations.

Chef teams from REI, Sur La Table, Anthony’s Restaurants, MulvannyG2, and Little Bit competed for the “Taste a Little Bit” championship. The teams created hors d’oeuvres based on five ethnic themes: Italian, Spanish, Caribbean, Asian, and Mediterranean. The finished dishes were judged on both flavor and appearance. The Little Bit team was the hands-down winner with their Italian Fresh Tomato-Basil Caprese.

“What a wonderful event for everyone involved.” said Kathy Alm, Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center Executive Director. “Thanks to MulvannyG2 and, in particular, Wayne Miller, everyone had fun while raising money to provide life-changing opportunities to children and adults with disabilities through therapeutic riding.”

The entertaining evening was highlighted with inspiring speeches given by Kathy Alm, Alexander Barbe, a rider at Little Bit who cooked for his team, and David Barbe, his father, who spoke of his appreciation for the Center.

In addition to the Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, MulvannyG2 contributes funds and volunteer hours regularly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, United Way, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, UW Endowment, Children’s Hospital, Washington Education Foundation, Communities in Schools, Seattle Architectural Foundation, Kin On Community Health Care, Nikkei Concerns and numerous other community activities and educational foundations.
